General steps of overall design

1. The layout of the functional partition according to the warehouse facilities
The warehouse is generally divided into three parts: the main operation area, the auxiliary operation area and the administrative living area. The three districts should have proper isolation, facilitate the safety of the warehouse, and have a convenient route to facilitate management.
The main areas of operation include receiving, inspection, classification, storage, circulation processing, packaging, distribution and delivery of special goods. The auxiliary working area serves for the main workplaces, such as the place where the anvil cushion supplies and the packing materials are placed. Administrative living area is the area for staff's life service and business management such as office buildings, dormitories, and canteen and so on.
2. Draw up the logistics flow chart, analyze the relationship between the facilities, make proximity analysis, and determine the relative location of the facilities
Logistics flow chart is to reflect the logistics situation in the plane and give people a sense of intuition. Logistics map requirements can clearly indicate the type of goods, the size of logistics, the starting point and end point of logistics. At the same time, we must avoid the roundabout, cross and reciprocating transportation of goods, so as to avoid the confusion of goods in transportation and the long route. Compared with the logistics flow chart, the use of each site, such as the receiving site, the acceptance site, and the distribution site, must pass through each category, and the storage sites, the classification sites, the circulation processing sites, the packing sites, or the operating sites with special requirements are not always passed. According to the utilization degree of each worksite, the size of the site is determined or centralized operation is carried out. The two sites can be combined into one venue, or multiple sites can be set according to the variety of goods. Close analysis is the analysis of whether the facilities need to be close, and the importance of proximity, from the perspective of the logistics process or management, to determine the relative position of the facilities.
3. Determine the area and spacing of each facility
As the storage conditions for different goods are different, it is necessary to set up corresponding storehouses and freight yards according to the quantity of goods stored. The area of the facilities is calculated according to the amount of operation. Storehouses should be located in accordance with the fire rating of buildings and the properties of goods stored.
4. Determine the area of the logistics route
Once the location of the facilities is determined, the logistics route will be decided accordingly. The width of the line can be determined according to the type of transport vehicle and handling machinery.
5. Drawing the general layout of the warehouse
After determining the area of the facilities and the area of the road, the overall design of the distribution center can be made according to the relative position between them, and the general layout of the center can be drawn.
